Davy Linggar photographed the soft and serene 4-page editorial—aptly named Vastu Vidya—in the January issue of dewi magazine, featuring the latest collection from Sapto Djojokartiko Spring/Summer 2013. The models were styled by Aldi Indrajaya in laser cut shirt, jacket, sweater and dresses. The collection texture-heavy details comes from the intricacy of relief, texture and sculpture commonly found on a dwelling created with the Vastu Vidya belief.
The design idea of the Vastu Vidya itself is an architectural foundation and outline with the philosophy that architecture is not just any architecture, but it is created to give linear alignment to all aspect of life. Thus, Vastu vidya is created as the perfect example of a ready to wear collection that completes fashion – in form, visual and style.

Started with the exclusive fashion spread of Sang Randeng Girah collection in dewi’s January issue; celebrities red carpet & event appearances in the designer’s dresses (Monday Michiru, Jessie Setiono, Rifi Aprilia, Indah Saugi, Dira Sugandi, Mirza Jueno, Andien, VJ Denise, Lia Chandra, and Wulan Guritno); cover spots (dewi, Le Marriage, Wanita Indonesia, Amica); multiple fashion editorials (Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, dewi, Garuda Indonesia Inflight, Amica, Marie Claire, Clara, DEW, Grazia, Cosmopolitan, Le Marriage, FashionTV); participation in several fashion events (Exceptional Soirée, Fashion Nation, Winning Mark, Mazda Style Parade, Love Shuttle, Cosmopolitan Nite Out, Ever After, Spring Beauty Festival); interview coverage (InStyle, Female, Jakarta Post Weekender, Cosmopolitan, dewi, Prestige); and last but not least, the launching of the latest collections from Sapto Djojokartiko Bride and Evening, Ready to Wear, and Vastu Vidya.

Sapto Djojokartiko’s dress isn’t just gracing the November cover of dewi magazine. Two accompanying images with the cover model Tiara Westlake, in a halter neck dress with embroideries and tassel details, are pictured above. Inside the issue, there are also five different editorials that’s featured several collection from the Solo born designer.
Novie Susanti styled models in Sapto Djojokartiko’s black dresses with lace, embroideries and sequins detailing for “Muda Selamanya”, that was photographed by Hakim Satriyo in the designer’s studio. Christine Evans picked exquisite lace and chiffon dresses with flowers appliqué and embroideries details to be featured on “Maksimalis Romantis”. The models posed in front of Arino Mangan’s lens.
Photographer Arseto Adiputra snapped “Bahana Belukar”, in which Sapto Djojokartiko’s chiffon dress and black shirt with tassel details (worn as slayer), from ready to wear 2012-2013 collection, were the choices of stylist Karin Wijaya to be featured on the editorial. The final two editorials inside the issue are the collaboration between Nicoline Patricia Malina and Aldi Indrajaya. They photographed and styled “Desir Angin” and “Diorama Empat Musim” respectively, which featuring the designer’s halter neck dress, jacquard jacket with studs details on the lapels, bell-sleeved blouse with studded collar, and nude colored corset.

An article regarding Sapto Djojokartiko’s participation in Dewi Fashion Knights 2012 (the designer presented his Spring/Summer 2013 collection, Vastu Vidya, at the event) recently was published in the November issue of dewi magazine. Hakim Satriyo photographed the accompanying image of the designer, with the styling works by Karin Wijaya.

DEWI FASHION KNIGHTS ADALAH beberapa designer yang dianggap konsisten berkarya, dan karyanya mampu memberikan nafas serta menjadi acuan bagi perkembangan dunia mode Indonesia. The Spring/Summer 2013 collection from Sapto Djojokartiko, Vastu Vidya, was presented last Friday, November 09th, during Dewi Fashion Knights 2012 at Jakarta Fashion Week 2013.
The design idea of the Vastu Vidya itself is an architectural foundation and outline with the philosophy that architecture is not just any architecture, but it is created to give linear alignment to all aspect of life. Thus, Vastu vidya is created as the perfect example of a ready to wear collection that completes fashion – in form, visual and style.
Sapto Djojokartiko explained that the inspiration for the collection is based on how he want the collection to be streamlined with high creativity but also with high wearability. Vastu Vidya texture-heavy details comes from the intricacy of relief, texture and sculpture commonly found on a dwelling created with the Vastu Vidya belief. Much traditional architecture found from the Indonesian heritage uses this belief, but Sapto Djojokartiko’s collection should not be mistaken as a collection that uses a style of ethnicity as the main theme. His modern take on this philosophy creates a contemporary motif that is applicable to those who still need to find function in a ready to wear design.
“The design basics of how I create haute couture are still applicable in a medium of pragmatic fashion”. Sapto Djojokartiko explained. Embedded with a beautiful selection of white, silver and grey with the appearance of rich mocha-like and dark brown, Sapto Djojokartiko still keeps in mind the modern women who would be perfect in the collection. “It is still strong and sharp, but it will also be sexy.” He described.
