Moreover, the relentless demands of the world and the escalating global tensions unconsciously overwhelm us, leaving a sense of helplessness and disconnection from interpersonal relationships and real-life experiences. Sapto Djojokartiko seeks contemplation by presenting the SAPTO DJOJOKARTIKO Spring/Summer 2024 collection. The collection aims to counter feelings of emptiness, gloom, anxiety, and recurring problems in life. It endeavors to restore self-presence and evoke a sense of peace amid the mind's noise and chaos. It's not a refuge but a creation born from the journey towards peace and enlightenment.

Set in the Fountain Area Plaza Senayan in Jakarta, the stage design draws inspiration from miniature ancient temples and purification bathing chambers. Within a location usually bustling with visitors and workers, Sapto has constructed a particular serene space encouraging guests to clear their minds, find calm, and embrace an opportunity for reflection and relaxation, fostering their inner harmony.

The SAPTO DJOJOKARTIKO Spring/Summer 2024 collection showcases 60 looks for men's and women's wear. It features minimalist design lines, an emphasis on simple silhouettes in solemn color palettes. Transforming simplicity into geometric cuts, it explores repetitive geometric lines and detailed variations, romanticizing simplicity. The collection delves into the interplay of light and darkness, utilizing translucent materials combined with solid geometric elements, evoking the Zen philosophy's self-reflective space found in the geometric lines inspired by Japanese dry gardens' sand and gravel threads.

The silhouettes take inspiration from the 90s to the early 2000s, including bandeaus, micro mini skirts, spaghetti strap dresses, and low-rise pants, alongside straight and balloon silhouettes in monochromatic tones. The collection's color palette revolves around earth tones such as Oyster-shell and Truffle-mushroom colors, harmonized with varieties of deeper blue looks.

Referencing the turn of the millennium, the color Lacquer-silver complements the diverse style looks. Materials like organza, tulle, and lurex interwoven with satin, velvet, and faux leather assemble draperies, asymmetrical cuts, and layered looks, accentuating ease through patchwork details and various sequin embroidery techniques.

Continuing to innovate, this season, Sapto Djojokartiko draws lace motifs inspired by Rimpang—spices like ginger and traditional Indonesian herbal plants known for their warming and nourishing properties. Classic SAPTO DJOJOKARTIKO embroidery motifs are reimagined and integrated into various rhizome designs.

The SAPTO DJOJOKARTIKO Spring/Summer 2024 accessories collection presents a range of footwear, including embroidered pointy flat shoes, Mary Jane shoes, fisherman sandals, metal-decorated mountain sandals, and micro bags.

The jewelry line features solid silver balls and gem arrangements in repeating formations such as earrings and choker necklaces.

The makeup in this showcases a natural look, highlighting facial contours like bones, cheeks, and the lower jaw. The eye makeup features calm earth-colored eyeshadow with silver accents, aiming to throwback to simpler times. Makeup artist Sissy Sosro, utilizing cosmetic products from NARS, expresses, "Sapto wanted to create an impression that exudes a wistful longing for a time when everything was simpler." Meanwhile, hairstylist Kiefer Lippens, using Keune hair cosmetics, styles the hair naturally, smooth and ultra straight, akin to silk.

Sapto describes that in today's world, one might feel as if they are gasping for air, finding it difficult to breathe. However, this collection and presentation aim to infuse fresh air into life. It's a reminder for everyone to pause and take a breath, live in the present moment, and find serenity amidst the whirlwind of a world that continues to spin.
