Raline Shah at Cannes Film Festival 2026

Raline Shah Cannes Festival 2026

SAPTO DJOJOKARTIKO returned to the international spotlight during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival as Indonesian actress and #SAPTOJOWomen Raline Shah appeared in two bespoke creations, each reflecting the house’s contemporary interpretation of Indonesian heritage and craftsmanship on one of the world’s most celebrated cultural stages.
For the Women in Cinema celebration held alongside the 79th Cannes Film Festival, an occasion honoring the contributions of women in film, Raline Shah wore a custom blush-toned kebaya adorned with #SAPTOJOPattern Yayi Ukir embroidery inspired by the intricate artistry of traditional Javanese carvings. Delicate detailing and refined construction shaped the silhouette, balancing timeless femininity with a modern couture sensibility.

The look was paired with a Grinsing embroidered skirt, introducing depth and richness through layered craftsmanship. Intricate embroidery complemented the softness of the ensemble, creating a seamless dialogue between heritage technique and contemporary couture. Haute Joaillerie creations by Chopard completed the appearance, bringing together Indonesian craftsmanship and exceptional jewelry artistry in a refined exchange of elegance.

For a second appearance at Cannes, Raline Shah stepped onto the festival’s iconic red carpet in a custom Oyster Bow Gown embellished with Yayi Ukir embroidery. Defined by a sculptural bow detail and intricate embellishment work, the gown offered a more contemporary expression of SAPTO DJOJOKARTIKO’s signature craftsmanship while maintaining subtle references to Indonesian artistry. The Oyster palette further emphasized the precision of the silhouette and the delicacy of the embroidery throughout the piece.
The look was once again complemented by Haute Joaillerie pieces from Chopard, uniting couture and high jewelry craftsmanship in a celebration of glamour on the Cannes red carpet.
Together, both appearances revealed two interconnected expressions of the Maison’s design language: one reflecting heritage-inspired dressing, the other embracing contemporary red carpet couture. Through Raline Shah’s presence at Cannes 2026, SAPTO DJOJOKARTIKO continued to position Indonesian artistry within the global fashion conversation while reaffirming the enduring relevance of local craftsmanship on an international stage.
